Politics explores the relationship between government and people. This course provides an insight into the major political parties in Britain and the US as well as key differences between their respective political systems. Students will develop an understanding of key issues such as democracy, political participation, human rights and EU membership. Moreover, students will learn about key political ideologies including liberalism, conservatism and socialism.
Politics leads to careers in government, law, journalism, teaching, business and many others areas. It develops skills with regard to communication, analysis and evaluation which are all highly valued by universities and employers.
