What is Health & Social Care?

You will have the opportunity to study a wide range of topical issues from an ever changing and developing world of care service provision. This will include gaining an insight into how individual care & support needs are met, considering the human lifespan and factors that affect development whilst hav-ing the opportunity to gain real life work experience.

Course Structure and Your Future

Year 12 & 13

There is a mandatory core content which comprises of the following units: Human lifespan and development, Working in Health and Social Care, Anatomy and Physiology, Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs, Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care, Work Experience in Health and Social Care, Principles of Safe Practice and Promoting Public Health. There are a further 5 optional units which will be selected based upon information gathered throughout our recruitment process.
