A Level Sociology

Sociology is the study of society and social behaviour, and sociologists are often critical of ‘society’ and how it is organised. The subject has close links with other humanities subjects, especially those subjects that develop the skills of analysis and evaluation.

The study of Sociology can lead to careers in teaching, journalism, law, social work, health care, criminology, business and virtually any occupation which demands contact with people.

“Studying Sociology has enabled me to make better sense of the society in which we live. It has taught me to understand the different reasons for social behaviour as well as challenging me to see the world in different ways.”
