Focus Days
Focus Days are a fundamental part of The Conyers Experience and form part of the Personal Development Curriculum. The Focus Day programme is designed to:
- Give students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of topics covered during tutorial (including Fundamental British Values)
- To experience new opportunities both within and outside of the classroom through practical activities and off-site visits.
- To develop the interpersonal skills necessary to become well-rounded individuals.



There are 6 Focus Days across each academic year. Students are expected to engage fully with this compulsory element of the Conyers Personal Development Curriculum.
The 6 Focus Days follow a thematic approach. Details of the aims of each day are provided below:

To understand how different choices impact upon identity

To celebrate the achievements of British thinking
To embrace creativity and design
To challenge stereotypes associated with STEM subjects

Diversity
To appreciate the diversity that exists within the local area in terms of religion, disability, socio economic status, sexual orientation and gender identity
To understand the importance of religion and cultural heritage to people

To understand what it means to be resilient
To develop problem solving skills
To build resilience in our Young People

Community
To understand what being part of a community means
To understand the rights and responsibilities of community membership
To explore the different communities that exist in the world

To understand the importance of physical and mental wellbeing
To explore strategies to help enhance physical and mental wellbeing
